From the Burnham & Highbridge Weekly News, first published Monday 10th Mar 2008.
FEMALE England rugby player Danielle Waterman will pay a visit to Burnham on Tuesday, March 25, to inspire youngsters to take up the game.
The top sporting star will visit the annual King Alfred School Primary Tag Rugby Festival, held at Burnham Rugby Club, mixing with primary pupils during the skills coaching session and inter-schools tournament.
Danielle, a Rugby World Cup runner-up and England's youngest ever capped player, is one of 90 athletes from across the country taking part in the Sporting Champions initiative, visiting community settings, and funded by Sport England.
The initiative aims to encourage more people to take part in community sport and lead healthier, more active lifestyles.
For more information on the visit, contact Paul Shepherd from King Alfred School on 01278-764080.
