CHRIS and Richard Dunn won the men's Daily Mail foursomes qualifier at Praa Sands Golf Club on Sunday morning with a superb 57 nett and will go forward to represent the club in the national competition, writes Simon Edwards.
John and Paul Murrish were second with 60 nett on the last nine holes from Mike Hatch and Steve Strick in third place.
Caroline Worrell won the ladies' Stableford on Saturday afternoon with 36 points. Anna Harry was second with 32 points and ladies' captain, Siân Lugg, third with 27 points.
Phyllis Williams won the Ladies' nine-hole Stableford on Wednesday morning with 19 points. Anna Harry was second with 17 and Chris Tonkin third with 13 on countback from Ann Seabrook and Jackie Quick. Anna Harry also won the putting competition.
Dave Rollason won the traditional "Putters off the Tee" on New Year's Day with four strokes after a play-off between himself, Kate Phillips, Simon Phillips and Steve Strick.
Roland Hardman won the New Year's Day "Triathlon" (nine-hole Stableford+Darts+Pool) with 31 points. Simon Phillips was second with 27 and Jack Hill third with 25.
The ladies play their Daily Mail foursomes qualifier on Saturday afternoon and the men play the Barry Mounter qualifier on Sunday morning.
Next week there is a weekly Stableford; the ladies play a nine-hole Stableford on Wednesday morning while the Ogres meet on Wednesday afternoon.
