Blaze after gas explsosion

A FIRE caused by a gas explosion in Crediton destroyed a caravan, a small shed and four chicken houses.

Firefighters were called to Hollacombe Farm at around 2.30pm yesterday (Thursday) when they received reports of gas bottles exploding.

There were 23 47kg gas cylinders involved in the fire and the crews tackled the blaze with four pumps and jets.

The incident happened at around 2.30pm on Thursday.
