Alison wins by a couple of points

From the Falmouth Packet, first published Friday 9th Mar 2007.

THE ladies Stableford at Budock vean Golf Club on Wednesday managed to escape the weather, but only just! A reduced entry saw Alison Samuel win the event with 28 points. Runner-up was Marlene Williams with 26 points.

The men were not so fortunate on Sunday and with torrential rain throughout the day the March medal had to be cancelled. It will now be played this Sunday and the final two rounds of the Winter League played on March 18 and 25.

Budock Vean's Mail on Sunday team were knocked out of the national competition on Saturday, losing by the narrowest of margins away to a strong Tehidy Park team by three matches to two.

Vean's winners were Richard Burton by 4 and 2 and Daniel Phillips 3 and 2.
