Four-a-side holders go out in Town Ladies' Skittles

HOLDERS Old Market C made an immediate exit from the Bridgwater Town Ladies' Skittles League four-a-side when they lost by 16 pins to Pig & Whistle B at the New Foresters in last week's preliminary round.

However, runners-up GWR Club A went through, by two pins against Black Horse A, also at the New Foresters.

In the league, first-division leaders Old Market A and second-placed New Legion A both won again. Lions Club B had a last-hand, five-pin home victory over Duke B.

Squib B led home side Volunteer A by 18 pins after two hands in their second-division match and, although Volunteer pulled seven pins with a closing 55, they lost by two.

The clash of the bottom two in Division Three went the way of visitors River Parrett, thanks to a last hand of 50, which pulled 11 pins and earned them victory by six.
