New flu vacination number

From the Bridgwater Mercury, first published Wednesday 10th Oct 2007.

FLU clinics offering vaccinations for Bridgwater's elderly are being held at East Quay Medical Centre this month.

The illness - which can cause fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, backache and coughing - can become serious, particularly in high risk groups like the very young and very old.

A centre spokesman said: "Annual flu vaccinations are the best protection for people with underlying health problems that put them at risk from complications.

"Increasing the uptake of flu vaccinations should also contribute to easing winter pressure on primary care services and hospital admissions."

You can book an appointment by calling 01278-444666.
