Twelve new homes for the council

From the Somerset County Gazette, first published Saturday 8th Apr 2006.

A DOZEN new houses in Wellington have been handed over to Taunton Deane Borough Council.

Housing association Raglan completed the homes in Wardleworth Way in March and the 12 new additions will give the council's housing stock a welcome boost.

The one-bedroom flats and two-bedroom properties are being allocated to people on the Deane's housing waiting list.

A TDBC spokesman said: "It is fantastic news that we have 12 new affordable homes in Wellington.

"We have helped with funding towards the scheme and officers have worked closely with Raglan Housing Associ-ation.

"We are constantly looking at increasing the number of affordable homes in the area and we are glad that this innovative scheme is now complete".

Raglan will be the registered social landlord of the properties and will manage them on behalf of Taunton Deane.
