AS Britain marked the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, a Broadway man discovered a family link to the most celebrated moment in British naval history.
James Washpear, or Westbeare, an ancestor of Ivor Pettitt, served as a Royal Marine on HMS Scipion, a vessel captured from the French on November 4, 1805.
Ivor's connection with the battle was discovered by his brother Ronald, who lives in Devon.
