CHARD Town FC showed considerable promise as their recent signings helped them secure a 2-0 away win over Cadbury Heath - and their first clean sheet of the season.
Manager Mike Hawes described the game as "a step forward" and was quick to praise his new assistant manager Stuart Parris, who made his debut in the Chard goal as the side switched to 4-4-2 formation.
Hawes said his next target was for Chard to win two games on the trot.
